EACT is an education foundation and a registered charity, committed to promoting excellence in education, under the leadership of Sir Bruce Liddington, the former Schools Commissioner for England.
As one of the largest multi-academy sponsors, EACT is opening new academies as part of a major programme of investment in educational centres of excellence.
More than six thousand students and 1000 staff have joined EACT academies in London, Birmingham, Sheffield and Leeds, with more set to transfer this year. EACT's latest academy, North Birmingham Academy, opened this month. See latest news.
The first purpose-built EACT academy has opened in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. The £35 million Trent Valley Academy boasts hi-tech facilities in a state-of-the-art new building.
The Government is set to expand the academies programme by accelerating the development of new academies. Welcoming the move Sir Bruce Liddington said: “Multi-academy sponsors such as EACT remain committed to transforming life opportunities for students. We bring a range of knowledge and expertise and we use our links with partners to transform education in the academies we create.
"While improving the outcomes for our students is the number one priority, we also seek to support regeneration and community engagement in the projects we manage – from delivering multi-million-pound new academy buildings to developing new education and leisure facilities for the whole community."
