- Admission to EACT academies is not selective. All students at the previous school automatically become students of the new academy
- We focus on maintaining the highest possible standards so that each student can sustain improvements made in their progress through the academy
- People learn more easily when their teachers know them well and respond quickly to their needs, so learning at EACT academies is based on regular one-to-one meetings where students review their progress and set new achievement targets with their tutor
- Each academy follows the National Curriculum and ensures that all students realise their personal and academic potential in a supportive learning culture with high expectations
- The curriculum is complemented by a wide range of courses, including vocational options, to meet the needs and interests of all students
- The focus is on English, maths, science and ICT and the academy’s particular specialisms, which include new courses, enriching experiences and innovative teaching methods
- EACT gives students opportunities they would not otherwise experience, such as international curriculum links and educational volunteer programmes abroad
- EACT students also benefit from personal mentors from business, voluntary organisations and higher education to support their learning and broaden their experiences, especially of the world of work
- Outside conventional school hours and during the holidays, academy facilities are available for use by the community, voluntary groups, sports clubs and local businesses
- EACT works on a multi-agency basis with local councils to create a hub of activities for local families to enjoy
