EACT Academies
- EACT sponsorship is in the form of an endowment fund of up to £1.5 million, which the academy’s governing body can spend on educational projects to redress disadvantage
- Academy sponsors are permanent, and EACT commits to a long-term partnership with each academy and its community to sustainably improve standards and levels of personal achievement
- Sponsorship is a genuine partnership, and EACT works closely with each school’s leaders and governors, parent body, local authority and the wider school community
- EACT academies are at the heart of the communities they serve, and to which they are accountable. Each Board of Governors therefore includes representatives of the local authority, the parent body, staff, local business partners, primary schools, colleges and universities
- Each EACT academy collaborates with others in the trust's network to exchange ideas and share good practice
- EACT also establishes partnerships with other local secondary schools, 14-19 networks, academies, specialist schools and feeder primary schools, including cross-phase links
- All members of staff are entitled to continuing professional development including refresher courses, postgraduate studies, collaborative projects and action research. In transferring to the academy, all staff benefit from a seamless continuation of service and the pensions arrangements operating in maintained schools
