The challenge
The better educated and more highly skilled people are, the more likely they are to succeed in today’s globalised world.
With this in mind, EACT is developing academies that are centres of excellence for improving young people’s life chances in the 21st century.
Academies are a new type of secondary school. As part of government plans to transform education by encouraging sponsors to set up high quality all-ability schools, local people and organisations are represented on each academy’s board of governors.
We work closely with private and public sector partners to raise educational standards and young people’s aspirations through innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
Diversity, tolerance and equality are at the heart of every activity in EACT academies, where young people of all races, faiths and cultures learn together.
EACT academies are also vibrant centres for their communities, available all year round outside of traditional school hours for sport, health and recreational activities. They are also a focus for family-related activities and provide lifelong learning opportunities for local people of all ages.
